Issues related to the labeling of genetically modified foods are usually examined from the perspective of consumers.  While such an approach informs the public debate on the consumption side, it often ignores the perspective of agricultural producers on the production side. This paper uses survey data from agricultural producers to help fill that gap. In particular the paper examines the role of farm organizations in the labeling of genetically modified foods. The findings suggest that agricultural producers who belong to the American Farm Bureau do not want biotechnology labeled food products even if there is a scientifically-determined difference in the product.
