Abstract Fail,
J. 2002. Input and output relationships of lead in community water system. JEMREST
1:80-86. DOI:
10.4029/2002jemrest1no16 Input and
output concentrations of lead in community drinking and sewage waters, respectively,
were determined using two pre-analytical sample preparation techiques. The
two communities of the study are located in relatively pristine environments,
and lead contents of the waters were low as expected. Nevertheless twice as
much lead was found in output waters compared to input waters and it was
observed that sample acidification before filtration gave higher lead
concentration data than acidification after filtration. Implications of these
findings are discussed with respect to the use of water nutrient input-output
raelationships as a quick method of possible water quality problems
originating within communities.
